So it is that time of year ago only 15 days of 2023 left and less than 10 days until Christmas
Merry Christmas and a happy new year everyone So it is also an ideal time to review 2023 from the ERS Removal services point of view, as with any year it has had it's ups and downs The obvious down is of course the Panel van breaking down and the issues that caused (us not to our customers as we had back up plans we could put in place ) Now the ups/Highlights Well the first one is back in January we won a place in the SBS community ( Theo Paphitis ( the one from Dragons den ) Which literally took us years of trying to win which made the win all the more sweet, and the Tweet we won with has over 10K in views which is our best preforming tweet ever , Plus we also Hosted one #Sbswinnershour Talking of hosting networking hours on Twitter it is now 1 full year that (Ashley) we have been one of the host of #NetworkwithThrive And still talking of Twitter , we have now over 5800 followers on Twitter/X Our Youtube channel has hit 150 subscribers As you might know we applied with the office of Traffic commissioner to expand our van operators licence (international) from 1 van to 2 vans and it was approved It has been a strange year at points with us having crews flying at various stages from Almeria Alicante and Valencia at points And Leeds as well Plus for the first time ever we sent a van from Hull to Eurooport which even when we where based in Hull we never did but the outbound leg of that trip was to the UK then to the Netherlands so made sense We also this year have been to Belguim with a load from Garrucha Spain

With 2022 coming to a close and at the time of writing this it been like 6 days to Christmas , I thought it would be a good point to look back at 2022 and review what has been going on here at ERS Removal services ltd
And 2022 has been an eventful year Where to start , and these are in no set order : 1:Well for one we have done our longest trip in terms of both miles and furthest north in 2022 with the van doing an Isle of Lewis Scotland load to Baza Spain which meant also 2 new ports that the van shipped via (port of Ullapool and Stornaway ) On the same trip the van also went to load in Germany 2: we did our largest job from the Republic of Ireland with the van going over to collect a load from their to Spain , that went into storage with us for a bit before onward delivery This also meant 2 new ports the van went via : Fishguard and Rosscoff making it 4 new ports this year the van has transited via (we have done something like 33 ferry crossings this year ) 3: We where granted our Standard international Operators Licence 4: Ashley passed his Transport manager Cpc Tests 5: we increased how much storage we can offer our customers 6: we now have done over 150 plus customs process 7 : we also added a Tors service to our offerings of Services, and talking off storage , we have as a result of our increased capacity, we have also stored the highest amount of peoples belongings in a year , we ever have 8: We also this year joined Tik Tok 9: on a sad note we also this year lost our beloved Shaggy 10: and on a sad note (but this one has a happier ending (we kinda ) let me explain , while out walking Nelson earlier this year we found 3 puppies dumped in a drainage channel , we adopted one of them our Lucy and her brother and sister are still with Paws Patas awaiting their forever homes 11: Our Youtube channel has hit over 250 hours of views and 81 subscribers 12: We have done 15 full trips on our Spain to UK back to Spain routes and several Spain to France routes 13: and our Twitter has passed 5100 plus followers , plus I have guest hosted Networking with Thrive twice this year (and have been offered a regular slot to host it in 2023 ) 14: and of course in December after many years of working together via online means (5 plus years (and as you know even wrote a blog for them last year ) We finally meet up with Mark from Purdie in person at their offices (the elf was out when we came but the Giraffe from the Giraffe around town project was in ) So it is as I write this the 20th December and less than 11 full days of 2021 left , where has the year gone ? Well for us here at ERS it has gone by in a busy enough year lets have a look back at 2021
So 2021 has as you know been the first year of the post Brexit customs controls and systems (yes the final UK ones are coming into place the 1st January 2022) so yes 2021 has been a year different to the last few years that is for sure: So customs and doing customs clearances (as in arranging and sorting via our UK and Spanish agents ) has been a big part of the year we have as the year ends done 43 full loads on the Spain - UK - Spain route which equals 86 customs process in total (I would like to take this opportunity to thank both our UK Broker WS Logistics and our Spanish Broker Aduana Del Guadalquivir SL , for all their help this year and all the customs process they have completed for us , enabling us to complete successful all the moves/deliveries ) (and I would like to also thank the depot in Spain we do our customs clearances at ) And we have also of course done 28 crossing of the English channel via DFDS Ferry on the Newhaven- Dieppe route (so a thanks to all the DFDS port staff at Newhaven and Dieppe and the office team and the ferry crews ) While in volume we may have been down in 2021 on 2020 and 2019 , the 14 trips we have done have seen us go to place including Fife , Edinburgh , Cornwall , Newport and other places in Wales, As far as Marbella in Spain, so in 2021 the van has sure covered the miles , and of course as you know the van has also in 2021 been sign written (by 101 business success in Hull )(and As I have said the van has also been serviced as need this year with thanks to Tom at Tph Autos ) And as well as the 14 full trips on our Spain - UK - Spain we have done 3 runs into France relocating people to France from Spain going to places including Grenoble Also in 2021 we celebrated our 9th overall year in business and our first full year as a limited company We also got our new uniforms this year with our new company polos and Fleeces And I would also like to Thank the team at Purdie worldwide removals who have this year had us write them a guest blog on moving to Spain since Brexit (link below ) Moving to Spain post-Brexit - Purdie Worldwide Removals & Storage Ltd Our Social media accounts have gone from Strength to Strength, and while I would like to thank each and every person I chat , network and interact with on twitter , facebook , instagram and the likes the list would be to long But I will mention Steve Barton of (1) Steve Barton (@KrasnayaDolls) / Twitter as once again he is working with us for the #NelsonandPercyatitagain Christmas adventures So 2021 has been an eventful year here at ERS Removal services ltd mainluy for the good thankfully a further example of something that has happened here this year is our Newspaper advert with Euro News Weekly But yes at times as with any year and any business there have been issues , been challenges (the first trip in January 2021 for example while successful was like that as it was a trail trip to make sure everything was in place for the Brexit systems at the time , which it was) But 2021 has overall been a good year a rewarding year and successful (with thanks to all the mentioned people and many more as well ) We have made many a persons dream move to Spain come true and as need helped a few people return/relocate back to the UK (thou let me add that it was still more people and loads to Spain this year than to the UK) i2020 has sure been a strange year and an eventful year full of hurdles for us here at European Relocation services , (like it has been for many business all over the world) and that is putting it politely
Some people are saying 2020 is the worst year in living memory, which with covid and a few other factors seems to be spot on however that doesn't mean there haven't been some upsides , some ¡company first and the likes this year for European Relocation services So lets look at the positives we have had this year and with how 2020 has been they are bigger positives in many ways then they might have been in a normal year *First deliveries to Ireland (we have this year done 2 jobs sending things to Ireland (household moves and household contents )(in the end done via Pallets so we have also as well as sending our first loads to Ireland from Spain in 2020 sent our first pallets there) *Most storage customers to date *largest overall storage volumes to date *Largest individual storage volume to date *some of our largest volume jobs to date *Most cars delivered to date *Our largest trade assistance job to date when we did a tranship and Porter assist for Gb Liners (team and truck from their Leeds depot) at 75 cubic metres near Bedar Spain in November So 2019 is all but over the van is back from its last Spain - UK . Spain trip of the year and only has quick deliveries left to do for all of 2019 before setting of on the 2nd January to start all over again. So it seems like a good time to look back over 2019 for us
Here are a few of the highlights
And from us here at European relocation services we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year |
