How to work out your goods value of customs purpose
A common error we are currently encountering regarding people declaring their good value is, people are using their insurances values for the goods , the Insurance value is based on what the goods would cost to replace as new.
For the customs purposes the value of goods in the case of household items/personal belongings and the items your move for your move/relocation should be worked out based on the current used value of the goods and * NOT THE NEW PURCHASE PRICE *
Please note that where iva/vat are applicable it will be based on the declared value of the goods
For import into Spain Please use a euro Value (work out in pounds and just convert)
For import back into the UK please use pounds (if value was in Euros just convert it )
